Why I bought my unit

These days, it is more common for me to arrive at rehearsals and sessions where the musicians are plugged into a board and get their sound via headphone feeds.  When I first started to experience such sessions, I would bring my own set of personal headphones which I would connect to a master splitter.  But the volume control was nowhere near me.  Inevitably, the sound would be either too loud (move the headphones off my ears as much as possible), or too soft (interrupt rehearsal to request a volume adjustment).

Seeking a solution to give me direct control, I came upon the Rolls HV6 Headphone Volume Controller.  It was clear after my first use of the unit that it provided exactly what I needed.  Gone were the days of volume frustration in headphone sessions.  This unit makes it so easy to dial in a volume that is just right for me.

As I do what I can in music situations to protect my ears, I generally keep my own volume softer than the typical rocker will request.  That’s another reason for purchasing this unit.  It gives me precise volume control – and that makes music sessions with headphones so much more enjoyable.

Rolls HV6 Headphone Volume Controller – My impressions

This unit feels to be very well made. It is sturdy. Cables plug in securely. The volume control movement is very smooth. This unit is extremely easy to use and very convenient.  It takes up so little space in my gear box and now comes with me to every event, just in case I need to use its functionality.

Some may consider this unit to be on the pricy side. However, if you want personal control for volume coming into your ears at any session using headphones, the cost can be worth it.  It was for me.
