Arthur Dobrucki

Composer, Pianist, Organist, Keyboardist

Arthur Dobrucki, a versatile pianist, organist, composer, and improviser from Southern California, exudes brilliance in every aspect of his musical journey. His classical training under the renowned Spanish pianist Mariblanca de Pujadas has shaped his remarkable talent. Although Arthur is a self-taught composer, he seamlessly incorporates contemporary influences and improvisation, adding a unique touch to his compositions.

With a vibrant presence in the Southern California musical community over several decades, Arthur Dobrucki embarked on his professional career at 16. He began as a pianist for On Stage Studios in Simi Valley, captivating audiences with his prodigious skills. Over the years, he has performed for esteemed local groups such as the Magnificent Moorpark Melodrama and Vaudeville Company, San Fernando Valley Youth Ballet, and Moorpark College arts programs.

Arthur’s performances encompass classical solo piano showcases and collaborative performances with Southern California ensembles, chamber groups, and soloists. Adding to his eclectic career, he fuelled the Los Angeles club scene as a keyboardist for the rock band Dorian, enthralling audiences with his musical prowess. In 1986, the Magnificent Moorpark Melodrama and Vaudeville Company staged “El Zero,” an original musical where Arthur displayed his artistic flair alongside Frank Roach.

Inspired by his unwavering devotion to the arts, Arthur co-founded the Simi Valley-based Center Stage Kids musical theater performing group with Eric Cohen in 1996, leaving an indelible mark until its final performance in May 2005. Complementing his multifaceted musical endeavors, Arthur has also served as a past Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center board member, further strengthening his commitment to promoting the arts.

Today, Arthur Dobrucki uplifts the congregation as the organist and pianist at Saint Mary Magdalen Church in Camarillo, California. Holding the prestigious (CAGO) certification from the American Guild of Organists, he epitomizes mastery and excellence. His dual certification from the National Pastoral Musicians further signifies his remarkable musical accomplishments.

On the rock and roll stage, Arthur Dobrucki plays keyboards with Willard Overstreet and the Highborn Kinsmen. His keyboard contribution is featured on the Willard Overstreet album, “All We Are.”

Arthur’s discography features diverse recordings, including “All You Need.” This phenomenal album encapsulates a contemporary blend of instrumental Americana and New Age styles, captivating listeners worldwide. The enchanting “Six Dance Episodes” showcases Arthur’s original compositions, evoking nostalgia for classical traditions. Furthermore, his album “The Darkness and The Light” impeccably blends classical solo piano works and tantalizing free improvisations reminiscent of the legendary Keith Jarrett.

Studied With Spanish Concert Pianist Mariblanca de Pujadas

Arthur Dobrucki’s formative teacher, Mariblanca de Pujadas,  debuted with the Madrid Symphony and concertized through Spain, Majorca, and the Canary Islands.  After successful concerts in Spain, she took a tour of South America, including Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and Columbia.  The same season, she arrived at Miami Beach for the first of her United States concerts.  Her North American concerts included Columbia University in New York City and extended to a Canadian debut in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Concert performances included appearances as a soloist with the Brentwood-Westwood Symphony, Inglewood Philharmonic, La Mirada Symphony, Beach Cities Symphony, Rio Hondo Symphony, and Metropolitan Symphony.  Solo appearances included the Wilshire Ebell Theatre and Municipal Art Gallery Theatre, Pavillion of the Los Angeles Music Center, Sutro Auditorium, Long Beach Municipal Auditorium, Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara, and performances in Oakland, Bakersfield, Palm Springs, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Rosa, and numerous other West Coast cities.

Ms. Pujadas studied with such eminent teachers as Sergei Tarnowsky (teacher of Vladimir Horowitz), Jakob Gimpel, Lillian Steuber, Adele Marcus (pupil of Josef Lhevinne and Artur Schnabel), Matt Doran and Mario Castelnuove-Tedesco.  The traditions of these great teachers have been passed on to Arthur Dobrucki.
