Today’s post is for the 2nd Sunday after Easter, or Good Shepherd Sunday in the Extraordinary Form calendar for April 15, 2018.   In the current Novus Ordo calendar changed with the 1969 revision, this introit is scheduled for the 4th Sunday of Easter, as is the celebration of Good Shepherd Sunday.   The observation of “Good Shepherd Sunday,” is reflected both in the reading from John and the Alleluia and Communion Song which both use the text Ego sum Pastor bonus – “I am the Good Shepherd.”
