10th Sunday after Pentecost
Today is the 10th Sunday after Pentecost (Tridentine liturgical calendar) and the 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Novus Ordo).
Today’s introit for the Latin Rite is Dum clamarem ad Dominum.
St. Mary Magdalen chapel, the home of my main organ post, is celebrating Low Mass this weekend and next weekend given some vacations in the choir loft. As a result, I’m filling in as substitute organist at St. Rose of Lima in Simi Valley and accompanying the typical parish song selections from the OCP catalogue. However, I am bringing in some organ selections for preludes and postlude.
Organ selections prepared for today include:
- Gelobet seist du, Jesu Christ (Pachelbel) (Link to score at IMSLP)
- Kreutz: Vision of the Prophecy
- Clerambault: Basse de trompette) (Link to score at IMSLP)
- Pachelbel: Magnificat Fugue I.20 (Link to score at IMSLP)
Recommended listening for the week: Ralph Gustafsson plays on the French classic Magnusson organ in Maria Magdalena Church, Stockholm – Clerambault, Grigny and Du Mage – available from the Azure Hills store on Amazon.
